We are proud to partner with Sea cleaners and Future Post to clean up the ocean.
Since 2012, Northland Waste has provided grants and support to help Sea Cleaners remove rubbish from our waterways. To date, over 13 million litres of rubbish have been collected, with a boat dedicated in the Northland District to help keep our oceans free of litter.
We are excited to announce our partnership with Sea Cleaners and Future Post to create an innovative solution for marine plastics. Together, we are tackling the issue of marine litter head-on by reusing some of the marine litter to create plastic fence posts. This partnership is a perfect alignment of our shared mission to improve our local waterways, educate our youth on the impacts of marine litter, and to increase recycling and reuse of materials.
Andrew Sclater, Northern Manager, explains, “Sea Cleaners and Northland Wastes are both dedicated to creating a better future for our communities and for the environment. By working together, we can make a real difference in reducing marine litter through innovative collaborations with like-minded companies.”
We strongly believe in the vision of Sea Cleaners, ‘to preserve New Zealand’s Coastline for the benefit of the marine life and for the enjoyment of all users and reduce harm from marine waste’. We are extremely proud of this new initiative and hope to continue to find innovative ways to combat pollution.
